Romaine-la-Prophétesse (died 1795) was a religious leader of slave insurrections in Saint-Domingue whose campaign in the plain of Léogâne lasted from the summer of 1791 to March of the following year. Romaine claimed to be the godson of the Virgin Mary, who commanded him to raid plantations, and kill whites.
