The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture is located in the Harlem section of New York City.

"The Schomburg Center's rare book collection includes the history of Blacks in the Caribbean, while the General Research and Reference Division includes information on the African Diaspora in the Caribbean. Among the related items in the Manuscript Collection, you can find the “Haiti / Dechoukaj Collection”, the Haiti Miscellaneous Manuscripts and Inventory of the John Kobler/ Haitian Revolution Research Material, 1791-1806. The Schomburg may have other resources that are not mentioned on the website. To find material that is cataloged, please use CATNYP, the NYPL (New York Public Library) catalog. This catalog will also lead you to relevant resources at the NYPL Humanities & Social Sciences Library]."
