Newspaper clipping from 1804 announcing that Saint-Domingue, at the time led by Jean-Jacques Dessalines, is reverting it's name back to Haiti - the name it had under [[Taíno] rule]].
Text: Name changes.
The blacks of St. Domingo have changed it's name to that of Hayti, the original name of the Island. It is proposed in an English paper to alter the name of Ireland to that of West-Britain.
