The Garrigus article does not cite any documentary evidence of his service. I have looked in the archives and did not find any evidence that he served in the Chasseurs-Volontaires. He was certainly a militiaman in the north and would have been old enough to serve, and since no complete muster roll of the Chasseurs exists we cannot exclude the possibility that he served. But I have edited the page to show the uncertainty of the evidence for this claim. | The Garrigus article does not cite any documentary evidence of his service. Does the author of this page have a source for the statement that Chavannes was a veteran of the American Revolutionary War? I'd love to find this but I was unable to find anything of the sort in the archives.
