La Dessalinienne (Dessalines Song) is the national anthem of Haiti. It is named in honor of Jean-Jacques Dessalines. Lyrics by Justin Lhérisson and composed by Nicolas Geffrard, the country adopted as a result of a competition in 1903 on the occassion of Haiti's centennial, January 1, 1904.
