1803 -11-18 Battle of Vertières between the French troops under General Rochambeau and the Haitian troops under Dessalines. The Haitian troops among them the Haitian Ninth Brigade under François Capois, named 'La Mort' (French: The Death ) won a decisive victory in this last major battle of the Haitian Revolution.
