Madame Vilevaleix was Léger Félicité Sonthonax' mistress, "a rich widow with several children." (Parkinson, p. 106). The two later married.

One of her sons, Louis Seguy de' Villevaleix, (stepson of Sonthonax) was the Haitian official who secured the ratification of the independence treaty with France in 1838.
