Louis Jacques Bauvais

Leader of the mulatto revolt. French-educated, handsome, and quiet, Beauvais had served in America during the American Revolution. "As a leader he was charismatic, loved and blindly followed by all who served under him or came into contact with him." (Parkinson, p. 58)
