Bréda Plantation

Bréda Plantation is the birthplace of Toussaint Louverture, one of the leaders of the Haitian Revolution. The plantation, in the environs of Le Cap, belonged to the Comte de Bréda in whose possession Louverture was born as a slave in 1743.
